Directions for use
Using clean fingers, apply a small amount to the genital area. Add a few drops of water or repeat application to reactivate lubricity. Approx. 10 uses per 40g bottle.

Pregnancy precautions
Although Sylk is not intended as a spermicide, Sylk's pH balance can affect motility, the movement of sperm and therefore, should not be used if pregnancy is desired. (Also true of most other personal lubricants.)

When ovulation occurs, the pH balance changes to around 7 which is a neutral pH state. Sylk has a pH balance of 4.5 - 4.7, similar to the normal vaginal environment, i.e. slightly acidic. This is deliberate to keep the vagina healthy and not alter the balance.

Sylk can however, be extremely helpful:

• For sexual intercourse during pregnancy
• After childbirth to recover from an episiotomy
• To counteract hormonal dryness when breastfeeding.

• Laboratory testing has been carried out including AMES test for carcinogenicity, challenge testing to establish the effectiveness of the preservative against pathogenic organisms and skin sensitivity tests. All tests proved negative.

• From production and fill, Sylk has a shelf life well in excess of two years, unless it is subject to strong sunlight and extreme heat over time.
